چکیده
Non-invasive subsurface imaging using full waveform inversion (FWI) has the potential to fundamentally change engineering site characterization by enabling recovery of high resolution 2D/3D maps stiffness. Yet, accuracy FWI remains quite sensitive choice initial starting model due complexity and non-uniqueness inverse problem. In response, we present novel application convolutional neural networks (CNNs) transform an experimental seismic wavefield acquired a linear array surface sensors directly into robust for 2D FWI. We begin describing three key steps used developing CNN, which include: selection network architecture, development suitable training set, performance training. The ability trained CNN predict was compared against other commonly models classic near-surface problem; identification undulating, two-layer, soil-bedrock interface. developed during this study able complex images testing set from their wavefields with average mean absolute percent error 6%. When common approaches, approach produce smaller image misfits, both before after generalize were dissimilar ones upon it assessed more complex, three-layered model. While predictive slightly reduced, still achieve misfits comparable models. This demonstrates that CNNs have great as tool good ...

Effects of surface scattering in full-waveform inversion
In full-waveform inversion of seismic body waves, often the free surface is ignored on grounds of computational efficiency.Asynthetic study was performed to investigate the effects of this simplification. In terms of size and frequency, the test model and data conform to a real long-offset survey of the upper crust across the San Andreas fault. Random fractal variations are superimposed on a ba...
متن کاملImage-guided full waveform inversion
Multiple problems, including high computational cost, spurious local minima, and solutions with no geologic sense, have prevented widespread application of full waveform inversion (FWI), especially FWI of seismic reflections. These problems are fundamentally related to a large number of model parameters and to the absence of low frequencies in recorded seismograms. Instead of inverting for all ...
متن کاملA projected Hessian for full waveform inversion
A Hessian matrix in full waveform inversion (FWI) is difficult to compute directly because of high computational cost and an especially large memory requirement. Therefore, Newton-like methods are rarely feasible in realistic largesize FWI problems. We modify the BFGS method to use a projected Hessian matrix that reduces both the computational cost and memory required, thereby making a quasiNew...

In the past three decades, the use of smart methods in medical diagnostic systems has attractedthe attention of many researchers. However, no smart activity has been provided in the eld ofmedical image processing for diagnosis of bladder cancer through cystoscopy images despite the highprevalence in the world. In this paper, two well-known convolutional neural networks (CNNs) ...
متن کاملDecision Support System for Age-Related Macular Degeneration Using Convolutional Neural Networks
Introduction: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is one of the major causes of visual loss among the elderly. It causes degeneration of cells in the macula. Early diagnosis can be helpful in preventing blindness. Drusen are the initial symptoms of AMD. Since drusen have a wide variety, locating them in screening images is difficult and time-consuming. An automated digital fundus photography...
